Robert J. Rebori: Using Innovative, Advanced Wastewater Treatment Systems to Enhance Water Efficiency

The 10 Most Influential Business Leaders to Follow

Water is becoming increasingly scarce, despite being a necessary good that is impossible to value. Environmentalists are worried, and even businesses are looking for ways to successfully dispose of their waste while having fewer negative effects on the environment. The design of modern wastewater collection facilities makes it possible to transport either domestic sewage or storm sewage, but not both. To accomplish goals for water quality and preserve public health, professionals in the wastewater treatment industry have been working to integrate proven technology and enhance environmental norms and regulations.

The water industries have undergone reforms in order to prepare for upcoming problems, including climate change, shifting demographics, and aging infrastructure. The President of BioMicrobicsMr. Robert J. Rebori, has designed wastewater treatment systems that maximize environmental benefits and offer potential for water reuse while lowering life-cycle operating and maintenance expenses.

Climbing the Ladder of Success

Robert J. Rebori revealed that he wasn’t a very good student because most of the subjects that were necessary in secondary school and the basic courses in college weren’t really interesting to him, especially given his short attention span. But from the time he was 16 years old until he graduated from college, Rebori thrived as a boilermaker in a contract pressure vessel manufacturing facility. He did, however, take elective courses in advanced business with considerable interest and success. He nevertheless graduated in the bottom 20% of his class, which at the time had the lowest GPA of any graduating class.

So, in 1981, during a severe recession and an inflationary period, he accepted a salary cut to gain his first white-collar job outside of his field of study – and he succeeded.

As President, Rebori is in charge of revenue growth and acquisitions, as well as profit and loss. His daily activities include managing marketing, management, finance, manufacturing, human resources, legal, strategic planning, and acquisitions for BioMicrobics and its subsidiaries, Scienco/FAST, SeptiTech, and InTank.

BioMicrobics

The tagline of BioMicrobics is “Better Water. Better World.®.”

BioMicrobics is a leader in cutting-edge wastewater, water, greywater, and stormwater treatment systems worldwide. They specialize in sustainable water management with award-winning products, and they have a track record of success. BioMicrobics products are pre-engineered, pre-packaged, and scalable for flows of 150 GPD to 2,000,000 GPD. Systems for treating drinking water and marine wastewater (covered by Scienco/FAST), ballast water (InTank) and stormwater runoff (BioMicrobics) are certified to international standards. On all continents, with the exception of Antarctica, they have close to 90,000 systems spread across more than 80 nations. But an Australian research ship in Antarctica has an MSD (Marine Sanitation Device) from Scienco/FAST, so that almost counts as the seventh continent!

BioMicrobics, which has a developing network of international distributors, brings together international projects and partners to offer client-focused solutions from design to commissioning, collaborating closely with regional councils, authorities, consulting engineers, and property developers.

Unique Initiatives for Treating Water

Rebori is a high performer who constantly seeks new ways to improve water treatment. His wastewater collection and treatment systems for onsite water, wastewater, and greywater are cost-effective and environmentally beneficial. Any home size can be accommodated by a system from BioMicrobics or SeptiTech, as can many commercial premises (with the right permits). Rebori’s objective with BioMicrobics, alongside Scienco/FAST, SeptiTech, and InTank, is to create simple, affordable, and reliable technologies that provide highly effective, low maintenance, and energy-efficient wastewater treatment. The “Fixed Integrated Treatment Technologies” (FITT®) products are the result of years of practical operating experience. In addition to delivering superior products, BioMicrobics is dedicated to offering its distributors’ customers the best after-sales support.

Healthy communities and a healthy world depend on the development of robust infrastructure for the onsite management of wastewater. With economical treatment solutions that are FITT® for the Purpose Intended, BioMicrobics addresses the problems associated with water use. BioMicrobics has been recognized for excellence in global exporting with a 2012 Presidential “E” Award and a 2016 Presidential “E Star” Award, as well as the 2011 Kansas Governor’s Exporter of the Year Award. They were recently awarded the “2017 North American Integrated Water Treatment Technology Leadership” Award from the Best Practices Team and Frost & Sullivan, and in 2017, received a Top 10 Green-Building Product Award from Building Green, Inc. for the d-Rain Joint® Device.

Leadership Approach

We strive for great policies and great people.” –  Robert J. Rebori

Rebori adopts an approach that seeks out excellent practices and excellent individuals—not just among the direct staff but also among all distributors and sales agents who work on behalf of third parties. In fact, the corporation hosts a sizable conference for them every three years (the next one is in April 2023 due to COVID travel restrictions). Because they use a comprehensive, integrated water management strategy to provide solutions that optimize benefits and reduce life-cycle costs, the methodology is distinctive in the decentralized wastewater business. Rebori and his team are dedicated to continual research and development of new and improved goods because their business is solution-driven. Their commitment to continuously improving their products and services is a critical component of their overall solution approach.

The Future of BioMicrobics

Rebori aims to provide the globe with cutting-edge, dependable, and environmentally sound water and wastewater treatment systems and related products. After using these systems, he asserts that “Our simple, low cost, robust systems change everything,” and that end-users rarely return to the previous technology paradigms. This explains why there are so many systems in use globally.

Our business is repeat business,” says Robert J. Rebori.

Rebori’s vision for the business is to provide low-maintenance, cost-effective, durable, onsite sewage treatment systems in order to safeguard and enrich the environment. He is aware of the link between environmental sustainability and the effects of wastewater disposal on the surrounding ecosystems. Every day, Robert and his business strive to enhance onsite wastewater treatment system best practices and make their clients better stewards of the environment.

Viewpoints for New Leaders

Rebori worries about young leaders getting off to the wrong start. When he was growing up, his father and friends correctly idolized the WWII generation, but they disparaged Rebori’s generation and stated they would never amount to anything. The same is being said about today’s youth by today’s seniors. “They are entirely mistaken,” Rebori says. He believes today’s young people are our future and have the power to advance the world. The types of political and corporate leaders we see now around the world, in Rebori’s opinion, won’t be tolerated. They will take better care of both the environment and people.

Rebori says, “Not only will we elder people need to rely on the younger people, but they will be better than our generation in so many ways.”
