Many home buyers use the services of a mortgage broker to get the best terms and rates while searching for a mortgage. However, in the aftermath of the 2008 real estate market meltdown, brokers’ business methods were scrutinized, and the topic of whether they behaved in the best interests of their consumers was raised. Working with an experienced, knowledgeable mortgage broker can assist you in locating the best mortgage for your needs.
Amy Buynoski, VP Builder Service Manager at South State Bank Mortgage, has approximately 20 years of experience and manages a staff of 100% women. She received the Loan Officer of the Year 2021 Award from Atlanta Agent Magazine.
Amy and her team provide a completely in-house financing procedure as well as a local new construction panel of appraisers. They provide a wide range of mortgage loan packages to meet the demands of nearly every borrower. They provide 100 percent financing for first-time homeowners, 100 percent financing for doctors’ loans, low down payment alternatives, the ability to skip three interest payments on government loans, and priority assurance pre-approval. They also offer free second opinions to consumers who want to compare lenders. “When clients come to our office, the first thing most people say is how they feel at home,” says Amy.
Amy Buynoski is a mother, coach, team leader, and lender. Her strength and enthusiasm shine through in the way she serves her clients and their families. Amy and her crew get several thank you notes and emails from their clients after they have closed on their new house.
Joining South State Bank
Amy and her team began working with SouthState Bank in 2019. The emphasis on the client experience led her to SouthState. That is very essential to the BuyNowTeam, whose mission is to give the greatest customer service and experience while always ending on a high note. The customer experience does not end when the client leaves the dining room. The BuyNowTeam makes an effort to stay in touch with previous customers.
Since joining SouthState Bank, the BuyNowTeam has effectively created a welcoming environment for their clientele. Maintaining a customer-centric attitude, Amy feels it is critical to work for a firm that is as “supportive and caring about their experience” as her team and herself. Amy says, “From their first home to moving up to their forever home, we are with our clients for life, and we love to hear from past clients that are coming back for another loan as a growing family.”
Supporting Communities
Amy and the BuyNowTeam are active members of their community. They appreciate presenting gifts of appreciation and thanks to their local police and fire agencies for everything they do to keep their community secure. They are also active in various community organizations, including the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association. They have also been included on the local Visit Roswell website as the featured local mortgage team that can assist families relocating to the region. Amy and her team also organized a very special fundraising event last year to honor the 13 troops who were killed in action in Afghanistan. They teamed up with FundTheFirst so that all proceeds from the fundraiser would go directly to the 13 families of the 13 fallen troops. Local Roswell, GA companies appreciated the concept and wanted to contribute. Over 30 local companies collaborated to make the fundraising event a success, and local veterans were honored during the event. Over $5,000 was raised and distributed to the 13 families who had lost a loved one.
A Loving Mother and Housewife
Amy is also a mother of four children and a wife. She enjoys spending time with her family and helps out at her daughter’s school as a cheer coach. Amy feels that it is critical to be a role model for young women and to inspire them to collaborate. Amy’s favourite time of year is football season, and she enjoys watching Friday Night Lights, watching Saturday games, and spending time with her family.
Women Participation in Mortgage Sector
For women in the industry, it can be challenging to be a successful leader in what is still considered a male dominated business.
“You will get knocked down and people will try to run over you. My advice to women is to dust yourself off, stand up tall, and don’t give up. If someone tells you no, do your own research and don’t take the first few no’s. Remember who you are and don’t let anyone change you. If you feel strongly about something that is in the best interest of your client, stick with that feeling and keep pushing forward.“
Amy also reflects on her role as a mother. “I have three daughters and want to be a role model for each of them. For my son, I don’t want him to be intimidated by a successful woman and want him to learn to be supportive of her. I want all of my children to have an example that hard work pays off.“
Amy feels thankful that she has a career that allows her to make a difference in someone’s life. According to Amy, whether it is connecting with and being excited about their wedding date or first child, fighting for a customer when they are working on rebuilding and starting over, or being able to give back to veterans that have served the country, makes her grateful for her work.
Amy also feels thankful that her career has allowed her to meet so many wonderful people and the friendships she has built over the years. “To have a sentence in someone’s chapter is so rewarding,” says Amy.
Bringing Impact
The industry is growing more complex and more competitive with each passing day, and South State is striving to leave their mark for the long-term in this industry. Amy is excited about the future of SouthState Bank.
Amy and her team do not have banking hours and are readily available to serve the needs of the families and individuals they are working with. Their office is located in downtown Roswell, where clients and partners can stop by anytime. She mentions, “We are not the transaction team. We view it as being a part of someone’s story and the impact it has on them, their family, and their future. We love connecting with people.“
